Study on Economic Evaluation of Pumpkin Production in Turkey

SUMMARY

In this study original data was used by surveys where to gathered from the 7 different provinces which pumpkins (Cucurbita moschata and Cucurbita maxima) have been intensively produced. Basic object of research about pumpkins is determine to dealing of inputs according to production techniques and profitability’s of enterprises and build up solutions for production and marketing. Supply, changing of price and foreign trade of pumpkins in Turkey is also examined. Although it changes production techniques, on the average, 618 gr seeds, 11.5 kg N, 10 kg P2O5, 1.6 kg K2O, 3.6 hours tractor power and 48.4 hours labour force used per decar in pumpkin production. Yield is 1.803 kg/da, profitability is 77%.
