STUDIES ON SUITABILITY OF STRAWBERRY CULTIVARS AND TYPES OBTAINED FROM HYBRIDISATION PROGRAM TO DEEP FREEZING |

SUMMARY This study was carried out on strawberries in order to determine the suitability of cultivars for deep freezing and the change in quality of fruits during storage. The fruits were frozen at -40°C and stored for 9 months at –20°C. Physical, chemical and textural properties of the thawed samples were investigated three times (in every three months interval) during storage. Consequently, starwberries 92.71.2, 92.72.2, 92.18.5, 92.15.1, were suitable for deep freezing.
